THE Namibian Police has issued a warning to the public to be on the lookout for Anthony Palmer Daniel also known as Toni Daniels, a man who presents himself to unsuspecting people as a special agent from Interpol with the intent to defraud people.
According to the head of the Namibian Police’s Public Relations Division, Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi, Daniel informs his victims that he specialises in cyber crime and that he is a law analyst who can solve certain kinds of cases at a ‘fee’.
“The suspect targets mainly Afrikaans speaking Namibians in his schemes. He promises his victims that he can solve problems with the law and brings them under the impression that he would re-examine pending criminal cases and cause certain types of cases to be dismissed by the courts. He also brings his victims under the impression that he has the authority to make criminal case dockets disappear,” Deputy Commissioner Kanguatjivi said.
He reiterated his caution to the public and stated that Anthony Daniels Palmer is not a member of the Namibian Police and neither is he an agent of Interpol.
Deputy Commissioner Kanguatjivi further requested the public to report any incident where Anthony Palmer Daniel a.k.a. Toni Daniels presents himself as a member of the Namibian Police Force or an agent of Interpol to report such incidents to the nearest Police Station or to contact Deputy Commissioner I.F. Sam at 081 214 8428.
