A CHINESE manager of a brick manufacturing company in Rehoboth, New Hope Investment cc, was recently brutally murdered by a scorned employee who had his contract terminated.
According to Namibian Police Spokesperson, Chief Inspector, Kauna Shikwambi, the 27-year-old suspect last week Wednesday, 1 May, which is also Workers’ Day, tied both hands of Sun Yanhui, 34, behind his back, stuffed a cloth in his mouth and slit his throat.
Yanhui’s lifeless body was discovered lying in a pool of blood the same day between 20h00 and 20h30, while the suspect was arrested on Friday, May.
In an unrelated inciden, in Kuisebmond, on Saturday, 4 May, at about 15h00, two suspects were stealing clothes from a washing line at a house in Bat Street when the neighbours saw them and notified the owner.
The neighbor, together with the owner of the clothes, chased the two culprits whereby the neighbour fired warning shots and in the process struck one of the fleeing suspects on the right leg.
The wounded 19-year-old suspect sustained a slight flesh wound and he was treated at Walvis Bay State Hospital.
All stolen items were recovered and the owner did not open a case.
The 35-year-old male neighbour was arrested, charged with attempted murder and his licenced firearm was confiscated.
The detained suspect reported that the victim and his friend have previously stolen items from his residence and two criminal cases in that regard were opened at Kuisebmond Police Station, but that the suspects were never traced.
