MOTORISTS travelling on roads between major coastal towns had to take extra caution as east wind conditions caused poor visibility and sand on the road surface created dangerous driving conditions.
Residents of the towns battened down the hatches to keep dust and sand from their homes while most outdoor work has come to a standstill.
The east wind conditions are forecast to continue over the weekend and into early next week.
Motorists should take additional caution in low visibility conditions.
