CRIME in the capital city continues unabated despite the many efforts by Nampol to combat it by means of night patrols and random searches on public members.
A couple on Sunday night spent hours at a Windhoek hospital for treatment following injuries they sustained at the hands of four robbers who they say ambushed them on their way from a popular bar in Olympia.
According to an emergency official, the young couple, whose names have not been released, was on their way to their car when four men emerged from nowhere with bricks and metal steel rods. The unidentified suspects took their mobile phones.
“The woman was hit with the metal weapon on her head when she tried to escape. Her boyfriend was stabbed in the stomach, causing him to bleed severely. We attended and took them to hospital. They are in a stable condition. It is very unfortunate that people are not even safe in parking lots anymore,” he said.
