A CHINESE national fell to her death at a skydiving club after a parachuting exercise in Swakopmund went horribly wrong.
According to the Namibian police, the incident happened on Sunday, 17 November, between 12:00 and 14:45 at the Swakopmund Skydiving Club, Swakopmund Airport.
It is alleged that the victim, identified as 33-year-old Ran Lei, a female Chinese national, got tangled in the parachute.
It is alleged that the deceased was busy with skydiving training when she jumped the ropes and failed to activate the emergency backup or reserve parachute. The next of kin have been informed. Police investigation continues.
