A CHINESE building contractor, the 30-year-old Xu Haizhen, who is currently busy with a project at the Okahao State Hospital was attacked and robbed of large amount of cash by six men while he was relieving himself next to the road.

According to Inspector Thomas Aiyambo of the Namibian Police’s Public Relations Division in the Oshana Region the robbery occurred on Saturday at around 18:00 on the Oshakati/Okahao main road near the Othingo village. He said that after overpowering the victim, the suspects stole N$37 500 and keys to his vehicle.

“It is alleged that the suspects followed the victim and that they attempted to rob him the first time at the Puma Service Station in Okahao. The victim stopped to speak on his cell phone, and the suspects stopped behind him and tried to open the door of his car. The victim saw trouble coming and drove off. When he was about three kilometres out of town he stopped again to relieve himself next to the road,” said Aiyambo.
