THE 19-year-old Toivo Konisa Tangeni died on Thursday morning after battling for his life for five days in the Oshakati State Hospital where he was admitted in a critical condition after being assaulted and stabbed a week before.
Although the victim of the vicious assault and stabbing died the Police in the Oshana Region has yet to arrest the suspects who are known to them.
This was revealed b spokesperson of the region Warrant Officer Frieda Shikole when she said that the attack occurred on the 08th of June at Olunkono village in the area of Ondangwa.
“It is alleged that deceased was assaulted and stabbed once on his head as well as on the right side of of his body. He was admitted at the Onandjokwe Hospital at first but due to his critical condition was later transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Oshakati State Hospital where he eventually succumbed to his injuries a few days later,” Warrant Officer Shikole said.
Shikole said the suspects are known to the police but no arrests have been made because the incident was only reported to the police after the death of the young victim. She gave the assurance that the police will apprehended the suspects soon.
