THE Wallabies opened their campaign in the 2019 Rugby World Cup with a massive 39 – 21 victory over Fiji.
The Ausies took away a bonus point after scoring six tries during the match.
The Wallabies scored two tries in the first half and only one of the tries was converted.
However a try and three penalty goals gave the Fijians a 14 -12 lead when the half time whistle blew leaving commentators at a loss for words
The Australians came out for the second half and started to capitalise on holes in the island nation’s defence. They scored four more tries and succeeded with one penalty goal and two conversion kicks against single try and conversion goal from the Fijians.
When the final whistle blew the Australians secured a solid victory in their maiden group match which will stand them in good stead progressing to the knock out rounds of the tournament.
