THE Executive Director in the Private Office of the Namibian Presidency, Mr. Moses Pakote was shot by armed men at his residence in Windhoek.
State House in a statement confirmed that the incident occurred late on the evening of 8 September 2019.
According to the report about the incident provided by the Public Relations Division of the Namibian Police the shooting occurred on Sunday night at about 00h30 at Mr. Pakote’s residence in Wanehepo Ndadi Street in the Auasblick suburb of Windhoek.
The incident report states that three male suspects armed with pistols broke into the house where only young children were present at the time and demanded valuable items from them.
“The suspects managed to steal a red and white iPhone 7, two black iPhone X’s and a white Mac laptop from the children.”
It is alleged that the robbers heard Mr. Pakote’s car arriving and that they rushed outside the house where they met him in the drive way before firing several shots at him and wounding him in the leg.
According to the incident report the victim was taken to hospital where he was admitted in a stable condition.
No arrest has been made and none of the stolen items has been recovered yet.
According to the statement by the Namibian Presidency the Police are investigating the case and that Mr. Pakote is recovering.
