THE 31-year-old Hamauta Abiatar Vatilifa passed away in a Windhoek hospital several days after he was involved in head-on collision on the B2 road between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay.
The crash occurred on Saturday evening and it was reported that the drivers of the two cars only sustained slight injuries but that both were hospitalised. Vatilifa was however transported to the Katutura State Hospital after his condition went from bad to worse. He succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
According to the Erongo Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
At the time of the crash both drivers blamed each other for driving on the wrong side of the road.
