Light to moderate showers have affected several areas across multiple regions of the country in recent days, with rainfall continuing in some areas and more expected in the coming days.
Ondangwa (5 mm), Buffelhoek near Otjiwarongo (26 mm), Onduri in the Kunene Region (5 mm) and Windpoort near Outjo (32 mm) were among the places that recorded light to moderate rainfall between Sunday and Monday morning.
These showers followed heavier rainfall and hail in some areas during the weekend, which affected multiple areas on Friday and Saturday. The affected areas included Welgedacht near Summertown, Grootfontein in the Otjozondjupa Region, Onverwacht near Dordabis, and the farms Bergen and Emilienhof near Tsumeb.
More rainfall is expected across multiple regions, from the north to the south. According to the Namibia Meteorological Services, the northern, eastern and southern regions, as well as the central highlands, are likely to experience thundershowers on Tuesday. The public, particularly road users, is encouraged to remain vigilant and avoid travelling through flooded areas.
