NAM-CSIRT has appointed cyber security and ICT professional Cornelia Shipindo as its new Executive, with the organisation saying her leadership will strengthen Namibia’s national cyber security incident response and resilience against evolving digital threats.

Shipindo’s appointment at the Namibia Cyber Security Incident Response Team (NAM-CSIRT), which is housed at the Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN), took effect on 1 October 2026.

She brings experience in cyber security, ICT governance, risk management, digital transformation, regulatory compliance, project management and stakeholder engagement.

In her new role, Shipindo will provide strategic leadership and oversight of Namibia’s national cyber security incident response capability. Her responsibilities will include strengthening cyber threat preparedness, coordinating incident response mechanisms, improving collaboration among stakeholders and promoting cyber security awareness.

CRAN Chief Executive Officer and Head of NAM-CSIRT, Emilia Nghikembua, welcomed the appointment, saying Shipindo’s experience would contribute to strengthening Namibia’s cyber resilience and collaboration between government, industry, academia and international partners.

“We are pleased to welcome Ms. Cornelia Shipindo to CRAN’s leadership team. Her extensive experience in cyber security, ICT governance, and strategic management will be instrumental in strengthening Namibia’s cyber resilience and advancing our vision of a secure, trusted, and digitally empowered nation,” Nghikembua said.

Shipindo said she was honoured to take up the position at a critical stage of Namibia’s digital transformation.

“Cyber security is a shared responsibility, and I look forward to working with government institutions, industry stakeholders, academia, and international partners to strengthen cyber resilience, enhance incident response capabilities, and promote a culture of cyber security awareness across the nation,” she said.

NAM-CSIRT will continue to focus on strengthening national incident response capabilities, improving cyber security awareness, promoting information sharing and safeguarding Namibia’s digital environment and critical information infrastructure.
