PRESIDENT Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has commended outgoing Turkish Ambassador Feral Çekerek Oruçkaptan for her contribution to strengthening Namibia-Türkiye relations, including facilitating humanitarian assistance during drought periods and expanding educational opportunities for Namibian youth.
Nandi-Ndaitwah received Ambassador Oruçkaptan for a farewell courtesy visit, during which she expressed appreciation for the ambassador’s contribution throughout her diplomatic tenure.
The President particularly highlighted Oruçkaptan’s efforts in facilitating humanitarian assistance to Namibia during periods of drought.

She also commended the ambassador’s contribution to expanding educational opportunities for Namibian youth, including scholarships for Namibian students to pursue Master’s degree programmes in Türkiye.
Oruçkaptan thanked the Namibian Government and people for the hospitality and support extended to her throughout her tenure.
She also expressed gratitude for Namibia’s solidarity with the people of Türkiye following the devastating earthquake, recalling the President’s signing of the Book of Condolence during the period of mourning.
The ambassador said the support she received throughout her tenure contributed to the success of her mission and the further deepening of relations between Namibia and Türkiye.
Nandi-Ndaitwah wished Oruçkaptan well in her future endeavours and expressed confidence that the strong ties between Namibia and Türkiye would continue to grow.
