RETIRED members of the Namibian Defence Force (NDF) from the Kavango East and Kavango West regions are set to gather in Rundu on Saturday, 3 October 2026, for the third Fellowship Day hosted by the Defence Force Foundation (DFF).
The event will take place at the DR Romanus Sports Field in Rundu, Kavango East, bringing together serving and former soldiers to reconnect, share experiences, network and strengthen bonds formed through military service.
The DFF said the Fellowship Day is a social and fellowship event that promotes continued camaraderie among NDF members beyond active duty, while also providing an opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss common interests and support the welfare of former and serving members.

The event will be held under the theme, “Honouring the Past, Celebrating the Present and Inspiring the Future.”
The DFF was established under Section 72(1)(e) of the Defence Act, 2002, with a mandate to provide welfare and recreational services to NDF members and their families.
Its mission is to generate funds to establish facilities that enhance the welfare of members. All NDF members are automatically members of the foundation, while other individuals may apply for membership subject to approval.
The foundation is mainly funded through monthly contributions from members, as well as donations and other activities.
The second Fellowship Day was held in Katima Mulilo in the Zambezi Region in 2025 under the theme, “A Legacy of Honour, A Future of Hope.”
The keynote speaker was Martin Kalumbu Pineas, Chairperson of the DFF, who emphasised the continued bond among NDF members and described NDF service as enduring beyond active duty.
The Fellowship Day is separate from the official NDF Anniversary, which is celebrated around 2 June each year to mark the establishment of the force in 1990.
