A BETTING shop at Oshakati was robbed of a cash amount of about N$37,000 by five suspects armed with knives this morning.
The targeted betting shop is located near the Okatana Service Station in Oshakati West, and the incident occurred at around 09:30 when five suspects stormed into the outlet and threatened the employees with knives, robbing them of approximately N$37,000 in cash.
According to the police, the suspects used a Honda Fit without a registration number as their getaway vehicle.
The police indicated that the suspects sped out of the town, but it was not yet clear whether they took the Oshakati-Oshikuku or the Oshakati-Omungwelume direction.
The police has once again reiterated its advice to businesses to “bank the money” and to avoid keeping a lot of money in the businesses.
“Members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or have any information regarding the suspects or the getaway vehicle are urged to report it to the nearest police station.
