SEVERAL housebreaking incidents were reported across Namibia over the weekend, with properties including homes, a bar, a school and a lodge targeted, while stolen items included electronic devices, cash and personal belongings.
According to the Namibia Police weekend crime report, at Onethindi, a bar was allegedly broken into at midnight on Friday. The suspects allegedly cut the window burglar bars to gain entry before stealing a jackpot machine and cash valued at a total of N$66,080. No arrests or recoveries have been made, and the investigation continues.
In Wanaheda, it is alleged that a suspect broke into a house at Okuryangava on Friday and stole mobile communication devices valued at N$20,300. No arrests or recoveries were made, and the police investigation continues.
At Eros Primary School on Saturday, unknown suspect(s) allegedly broke into multiple offices and teachers’ rooms and stole various personal belongings and cash. The value of the stolen items is unknown. No arrests or recoveries have been made.
In Old Ongwediva, an unknown suspect allegedly broke the padlock of a burglar bar and gained entry into a property on Saterday. Electronic devices and personal belongings valued at N$16,130 were allegedly stolen. No arrests or recoveries were made.
At a lodge in the Lizauli area, an unknown suspect allegedly cut the netting of a tent window with an unknown object on Saturday and stole mobile communication devices, personal belongings, documents and cash. Only the passports were recovered, and no arrests were made.
In the Kongola area, suspects allegedly opened the door of a complainant’s room and gained entry on Saturday. Electronic and mobile communication devices valued at N$56,300.09 were allegedly stolen. No arrests or recoveries were made.
Police investigations into all the incidents are continuing.
