A FEMALE Angolan national has been arrested in the Omusati Region after she allegedly gave birth to a baby boy, concealed the birth and dumped the baby in a pit latrine in Iihanguti village, Elim Constituency.
The crime was discovered Tuesday morning by the suspect’s alert housemates, who became suspicious about the mysterious disappearance of her pregnancy.
It is alleged that the 26-year-old suspect gave birth to a baby boy, wrapped the body in a blanket and threw it into an old pit latrine.
According to the police, a thorough investigation and interrogation of the suspect culminated in the suspect pinpointing the site where she dumped her baby. The body was retrieved and taken to the mortuary, while the suspect was admitted to Oshikuku Hospital under police guard.
