Public invited to share views on Green Hydrogen Environmental and Social Assessments

Staff Reporter

THE Namibia Green Hydrogen Programme (NGH2P) and ERM will host an online Stakeholder Advisory Group meeting to discuss the findings of the draft Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment (SESA) for Green Energy Production and Industrialisation in the Southern Corridor Development Initiative (S-CDI).

The meeting will take place on Thursday, 3 September 2026, from 10h00 to 15h00. Those interested in attending are advised to register by emailing SESAContact@erm.com.

The SESA considers the wider environmental and social implications of development in the Southern Corridor, as well as the measures needed to manage these impacts.

The findings of the SESA for Green Energy Production and Industrialisation in the Southern Corridor Development Initiative (S-CDI) are also available for public review and comment.

The draft SESA and its accompanying Mitigation, Management and Monitoring Plan are open for public comment until Friday, 4 September 2026. These documents, as well as the SESA Feedback Form, can be accessed at https://gh2namibia.com/media-and-downloads/.

Comments should be submitted by email to SESAContact@erm.com. Stakeholders wishing to comment on specific sections of either document should download the accompanying Stakeholder Feedback Form and follow the instructions on the cover page.

For any questions, members of the public are advised to contact Eline van der Linden, Head of Impact & ESG (evdlinden@gh2.org.na), and/or Don Muroua, Senior Environmental Officer (dmuroua@gh2.org.na), at the Namibia Green Hydrogen Programme (NGH2P).
