CRIME UPDATE: The 32-year-old suspect, who has been on the run in the Omusati Region since 6 August after he allegedly raped an 11-year-old niece, has finally been arrested.
The suspect had gone into hiding immediately after committing the alleged crime in the Ohendjeno village, Okalongo constituency.
Both the suspect and the victim reside in the same house.
Police Regional Commander Ismael Basson announced the suspect’s arrest on Tuesday.
