THE Namibian police in the Omusati Region are investigating two separate incidents of rape and have arrested two suspects aged 15 and 17. The victims in both cases are minors, aged two and ten years respectively.
According to the police regional commander, Ismael Basson, the first incident occurred on Monday afternoon in the Omakuva village, Onesi constituency, when the 17-year-old suspect, who lives in the same house with the 10-year-old victim, lured the minor into a room and then used force to rape her.
The victim’s grandfather reported the crime at the Omahenene police station and the suspect has been arrested.
Another rape incident occurred two days later in the Omuthituwonyama village, Okalongo constituency.
According to the police, the 16-year-old suspect and the two-year-old victim reside in the same house.
The suspect has been arrested.
