SWAPO Party Secretary-General Sophia Shaningwa has concluded a busy week of engagements, officiating at a three-day leadership training seminar for the Rundu Urban District before travelling to Okongo Village in the Ohangwena Region to open the SWAPO Party Women’s Council (SPWC) Annual Regional Seminar on Saturday.
Shaningwa led and officially closed the leadership training in Rundu, which ran from 29 to 31 July at the Regional Council Auditorium. The seminar was attended by party leaders at regional, district and branch levels, as well as representatives of party wings and grassroots members.
She was accompanied by Sisa Namandje, a member of the party’s Central Committee.
On Saturday, Shaningwa officiated at the official opening of the SPWC seminar in Okongo under the theme, “Assessing the Economic Activities of Namibian Women.”
The event was described as a vital platform to strengthen party structures, empower women, and ensure that the necessary space and resources are made available to effectively implement the party’s programmes at the grassroots level.
