//Kharas governor to embark on community engagement tour across the region

THE //Kharas Regional Governor, Dawid Gertze, will embark on a series of Regional Community Engagement and Information Sharing Sessions across the region from 10 August to 4 September 2026.

According to the Office of the Governor, the initiative is aimed at bringing government closer to communities by providing residents with information on government programmes, available services and ongoing development projects.

“The programme will also include community engagement sessions, town hall meetings and site visits to strengthen service delivery, transparency and collaboration between government and communities,” the Governor’s Office said.

The engagements will begin in Ariamsvlei at the town’s kindergarten on 10 August, before moving to Aussenkehr (Community Hall) on 11 August, Rosh Pinah (Community Hall) on 12 August, Oranjemund (Town Hall) on 13 August, Aus (Marmer Primary School) on 14 August and Aroab (Community Hall) on 31 August.

The engagements will continue in September, with the Governor scheduled to address the Koës community at the Community Hall on 1 September. This will be followed by engagements in Tses (Community Hall) on 2 September, Berseba (Community Hall) on 3 September and Bethanie (Community Hall) on 4 September.

The public meetings will begin at 09:00 each day, followed by visits to development project sites at 14:00.

“We invite all members of the public to actively participate in the first phase of the constituency engagements,” the Governor’s Office added.
