THE Namibian Police (NamPol) in the Hardap Region has destroyed drugs worth N$462,510 that were confiscated last year.
Deputy Commissioner Theodore Kotungondo said the drugs were confiscated from various parts of the region and were linked to cases finalised between January and December 2025.
“These drugs mostly originated from Rehoboth, Mariental and Kalkrand,” he said.

The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology’s (MICT) Hardap Regional Office disclosed that the destroyed contraband included 600 Mandrax tablets, 2.670 kg of cannabis skunk, 11.971 kg of pure cannabis, and 400 units of crack cocaine.
“Deputy Commissioner Theodore Kotungondo affirmed the police’s commitment to keeping illegal drugs off the streets and ensuring transparency by destroying exhibits only after court cases have been finalised. Authorities also urged the public to continue working closely with law enforcement by reporting drug-related activities in their communities,” the MICT Hardap Regional Office added.
