PRESIDENT Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on Monday visited the China General Nuclear (CGN) Power Corporation in Shenzhen, where Namibia and China explored opportunities to deepen cooperation in clean energy, industrialisation, technology transfer and the sustainable use of Namibia’s natural resources.
The visit formed part of the President’s State Visit to the People’s Republic of China and included the First Gentleman, members of the Namibian delegation and senior Chinese officials.
Nandi-Ndaitwah was received by the leadership of China General Nuclear (CGN) Power Corporation, who briefed the delegation on the company’s operations and its role in advancing clean energy through nuclear power and low-carbon technologies.

CGN is one of China’s leading nuclear power companies and a global player in clean energy, contributing to the country’s transition to low-carbon electricity generation through innovation, technology and sustainable energy production.
The Presidency said Namibia, as one of the world’s leading uranium producers, is well positioned to strengthen cooperation with companies such as CGN, particularly in areas of value addition, technology transfer, skills development and the sustainable utilisation of its mineral resources.
The visit also underscored the shared commitment of Namibia and China to expanding bilateral cooperation and exploring new opportunities in clean energy, innovation, industrialisation and sustainable economic development.
