TEMPERATURES in the south are expected to drop significantly, with snowfall predicted in some southern areas on Wednesday.
This was predicted by the Namibia Meteorological Services, which indicated that these conditions are expected to be accompanied by rainy and windy weather.
According to the Namibia Meteorological Services, south-western areas in particular could become so cold on Wednesday that snowfall is possible. Meanwhile, other southern areas are expected to experience frost. The Namibia Meteorological Services highlighted Aus in the //Kharas Region and Maltahöhe in the Hardap Region as some of the places likely to experience extremely cold conditions.
Alongside the low temperatures, the Hardap and //Kharas regions are also expected to receive rainfall on Wednesday. This is expected to affect not only the southern interior areas but also the southern coast, where heavy storms are expected.
The southern regions are not the only areas expected to be affected by cold and wet weather.
The Namibia Meteorological Services also indicated that frost may spread into central parts of the country. The central highlands are expected to receive rainfall as well, while rain showers are also likely in the Omaheke Region.
The Namibia Meteorological Services also predicted that most interior areas are expected to be windy on Wednesday.
