POLICE are investigating a housebreaking incident in Henties Bay and two separate cases of fraud involving alleged theft under false pretences in Windhoek and the Kavango West Region, with losses amounting to nearly N$397,000.

According to the police weekend crime report, unknown suspects allegedly broke into a house in Henties Bay during the early hours of Saturday and stole property valued at approximately N$286,400.

The incident reportedly occurred between midnight and 05:00. Police said the suspects gained entry by removing a living room window before stealing various items from the residence without the owner’s consent.

An empty ladies’ handbag was later recovered, but no arrests have been made and the suspects remain unidentified.

In a separate incident in Windhoek’s Wanaheda residential area, a woman allegedly lost N$70,585 in a scam after receiving a phone call from a person claiming to be a bank official.

The incident occurred on Saturday at around 10:20. Police said the suspect allegedly deceived the complainant before withdrawing money from her account. No arrests have been made and none of the funds have been recovered.

Meanwhile, police in the Kavango West Region are investigating another case of theft under false pretences reported at Casa Village in the Bunya area.
