DEFENCE and Veterans Affairs Minister Frans Kapofi on Thursday launched the book, Security, Resource Control and Democracy in Africa, at the University of Namibia’s School of Military Science.
Speaking at the launch, Kapofi stressed the importance of investing in research and knowledge generation. He urged institutions to establish and strengthen research centres that contribute to evidence-based policymaking.
“Think deeply about how Africa can strengthen institutions, promote equitable resource governance, and build resilient democratic systems capable of addressing contemporary challenges,” he said.
The scholarly publication aims to contribute to discussions on governance, security and sustainable development across the continent.
According to the Defence Ministry, the book is a product of an international conference hosted by the School of Military Science in November 2023. It was published by African Sun Media Publishers of Stellenbosch, South Africa.
