A PLANNED water supply interruption at Namibia Water Corporation Ltd’s (NamWater) Von Bach Treatment Plant has been rescheduled to Friday, 05 June 2026, following a request by NamPower, with several key customers including the City of Windhoek and Okahandja Municipality expected to be affected during the outage.
NamWater said the interruption is necessary to accommodate NamPower’s scheduled power outage at the Von Bach Treatment Plant, which will run from 07:00 to 18:00 on 05 June 2026. The work will involve extending the 11kV and 66kV busbar to a mobile substation, requiring full station isolation.
As a result, pump stations at the plant will be unable to transfer water for the duration of the outage and until electricity supply is fully restored.
The interruption will affect multiple stakeholders supplied from the Von Bach system, including the City of Windhoek, Okahandja Municipality, Gross Barmen, Osona Military Base, Osona Village, Namib Poultry Industries, Okapuka Road Traffic Checkpoint, Finkenstein, Herbothsbrick and Hosea Kutako International Airport, among others.
NamWater said it regrets any inconvenience caused and appreciated the understanding and cooperation of affected customers.
