POLICE have arrested three men in connection with the rape of two young girls in different parts of Namibia on Friday.
According to the police weekend crime report, in the first incident, two Angolan male nationals, aged 17 and 25, were arrested for allegedly raping a nine-year-old Namibian girl on separate occasions at Mburundu Village in the Ncamagoro area. Both suspects remain in police custody.
In the second incident, a 26-year-old Namibian man was arrested in Katutura after allegedly raping a 13-year-old Namibian girl at Wambo Location. The victim’s family member became suspicious when they noticed the girl crying and asked her what was wrong. The minor then disclosed the alleged rape. The suspect has been arrested and is also in police custody as investigations proceed.
Police have confirmed that both cases are still under active investigation.
