THE Namibian Defence Force (NDF) will this Thursday, 21 May 2026, celebrate the graduation of its 18th Intake at the Training Establishment at Osona Military Base near Okahandja, where recruits will officially complete 12 months of intensive training and be inducted into active service.
The ceremony, which begins at 09:00, will showcase the spirit of discipline, patriotism and military excellence as the new soldiers take their oath of allegiance following a year of rigorous preparation and specialised military instruction.
The graduation will be officiated by Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs, Hon. Frans Kapofi, and presided over by Chief of the Defence Force, Air Marshal Martin Kambulu Pinehas.
The recruits will formally be commissioned as members of the Namibian Defence Force during the ceremony, marking their transition from trainees to fully fledged soldiers committed to serving the nation.
The event is expected to draw senior military officials, regional leaders, the Mayor of Okahandja, and family members who will witness the culmination of the recruits’ training journey and their entry into national service.
