THE dates set for the hosting of Okongo village’s annual Omaludi Agricultural Festival are still weeks away, but preparations have already reached an advanced stage, with a fundraising gala dinner held on Saturday.
A total of N$465,700 was raised during the event, with Hangala Foods pledging the single highest amount of N$50,000.
The 5th edition of the festival takes place from 25 to 30 May under the theme: “Agriculture and Tourism for Sustainable Economic Growth”.
Recently, a delegation from the Omaludi Festival organising committee, led by Okongo Village Council Chairperson Tuhafeni Shapopi and Chief Executive Officer Jackson Muma, visited State House and met President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah to brief her on the status of preparations in her capacity as the festival’s patron.
Omaludi — essentially an expo — brings together farmers, entrepreneurs and other industry players to network and showcase their products and services.
