NamWater postpones Opuwo water supply interruption

Staff Reporter

THE Namibia Water Corporation (NamWater) has announced that the planned water supply interruption for Opuwo and the surrounding areas has been postponed.

The interruption was initially scheduled for later this week, on 23 April 2026. However, NamWater has since decided to delay it, as the Opuwo Town Council will be hosting its Annual Trade Fair this week.

“This decision follows engagements with the Opuwo Town Council, which will be hosting its Annual Trade Fair from 20 April to 02 May 2026. To minimise disruption during this important community event, the planned upgrade works will now take place in May 2026,” the corporation explained.

NamWater confirmed that the new dates for the planned water supply interruption will be announced at a later stage.
