THE Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform has invited applications from suitably qualified Namibians to serve on the Board of Directors of the Livestock and Livestock Products Board of Namibia (LLPBN), with the current board’s term set to expire on 31 May 2026.
The ministry said the appointments are being made in line with the Public Enterprises Governance Act of 2019 and the Livestock and Livestock Products Act of 1981, as amended. The new board will serve a three-year term and will be responsible for providing strategic oversight to Namibia’s livestock and livestock products industry, including cattle, sheep, goats, pork, poultry, dairy, and hides and skins.
Applicants are required to have at least 10 years of industry experience in fields such as livestock production, dairy, meat trading and manufacturing, or marketing. Candidates must also hold a relevant degree at NQF Level 7 or higher in disciplines such as agriculture, veterinary science, economics, law, finance, commerce, marketing, or business management.
In addition, applicants should have a minimum of five years’ experience in senior leadership or board-level roles, as well as proven knowledge of governance frameworks, including the Public Enterprises Governance Act and the NamCode on Corporate Governance.
The ministry emphasised that candidates must demonstrate strong competencies in strategic thinking, risk management, and a thorough understanding of the livestock value chain, including both communal and commercial sectors across Namibia.
Applicants must also meet “fit and proper” criteria, with individuals having criminal records or being rehabilitated insolvents disqualified. Persons currently serving on two public enterprise boards will not be considered.
Interested candidates are required to submit a comprehensive curriculum vitae, certified copies of their identity and academic documents, and a letter of motivation outlining their area of expertise.
Applications must be submitted via email or delivered to the Office of the Minister at the Government Office Park in Windhoek no later than 17:00 on 17 April 2026.
Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed, with successful applicants recommended for appointment to the board.
