PRESIDENT Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah today received Abdullah Almusaibeeh, President of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa, for a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening cooperation and advancing development financing aligned with Namibia’s national priorities.
BADEA is a development finance institution that supports African countries through funding, technical assistance, and strategic partnerships focused on infrastructure, trade, and sustainable economic growth—objectives that closely align with Namibia’s National Development Plan (NDP6).

During the meeting, President Nandi-Ndaitwah recalled her earlier engagement with BADEA officials on the sidelines of the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa. She stressed the importance of sustained, direct engagement between BADEA leadership and key Namibian ministries to deepen cooperation and ensure that partnerships deliver tangible development outcomes.
Almusaibeeh expressed appreciation for Namibia’s hospitality, noting that his delegation had already held productive discussions with several ministries, including International Relations and Trade, Works and Transport, and Finance.
He said these engagements had helped establish a clear and practical roadmap for future cooperation between BADEA and Namibia.
