Family members are seeking public assistance in tracing the whereabouts of two women who went missing in two separate incidents during long-haul travels.
In the first case, a teenager identified as Denay de Koe (Nonno) is said to have disappeared after hailing a long-haul taxi from Mariental at around 11:00 on 31 March 2026. It is alleged that de Koe, aged 16, informed the drivers at the taxi rank that she would be travelling from Mariental to either Windhoek or Swakopmund.

According to her family, she had hailed the long-haul taxi with two other women who have cellphones, but they too remain unreachable. She is said to be light in complexion and was wearing a black dress at the time of her departure. Anyone with information is urged to contact her family on 081 465 5896.
In another matter, a 23-year-old woman identified as Rebecca Fredericks is also said to have gone missing after hailing a long-haul taxi from Otjiwarongo on Monday, 30 March 2026, but never made it to her final destination, the southern settlement of Maltahöhe.
According to her concerned mother, Rebecca had been visiting her uncle in Otjiwarongo but decided to return to Maltahöhe after failing to hear back about employment opportunities she had been seeking in the town. It is alleged that at about 18:00 on the same date, Rebecca was spotted in a black taxi by an ex-boyfriend in Windhoek in the Malaka Draai area. He, however, allegedly failed to take down the taxi number, as it was a fleeting moment and he did not think anything untoward had occurred.
Rebecca has since been missing, and her mother is asking the Namibian Police for assistance in tracing her cellphone number, which is said to be switched off. Anyone with information on the matter can contact Rebecca’s mother, Honzina Fredrika, on 081 555 8060 or 081 271 4473.
