THE worldwide leader of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Leo XIV, said Jesus Christ does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war.
Speaking on the occasion of the commemoration of Palm Sunday, the Pope reflected on Jesus as “the King of Peace” who rejects war and refuses to listen to the prayers of those who wage war.
“He [Jesus] remains steadfast in meekness, while others are stirring up violence. He offers Himself to embrace humanity, even as others raise swords and clubs,” said the Pope.

Christians worldwide observed Palm Sunday today, marking the remembrance of Jesus Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem a week before His crucifixion.
The event marks the beginning of “Holy Week”, which has the Easter Weekend — the death and resurrection of Christ — as its highest point.
According to the Biblical narrative (Matthew 21:8–9), Jesus was welcomed in Jerusalem by a chanting crowd of followers who spread their cloaks and tree branches on the road.
As part of the commemoration, worshippers attend church services after partaking in processions, holding palm leaves while singing hymns in praise of the Saviour.
The day is celebrated by most major Christian denominations, but there are a number of denominations that do not celebrate it.
