UPDATE: Windhoek Magistrate Jozanne Klazen this morning granted Namcor fraud- and corruption-implicated businessman Panduleni Hamukwaya bail in the amount of N$200,000, with several conditions attached. Hamukwaya is the husband of former National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (Namcor) finance executive Jennifer Hamukwaya. It is alleged that Panduleni received funds into his business, Panduleni Farming CC, which are allegedly linked to proceeds of criminal activity from Namcor, which is said to have been sold bogus assets by Enercon. Panduleni and his wife have been in custody for eight months since July 2025, leaving their minor children in the care of a nanny. Klazen said that it is unlikely that Panduleni would abscond, taking into consideration that he would be the sole caregiver of his children if released on bail, as his wife is still incarcerated.
