The police reported that two fatal accidents took place this weekend, claiming the lives of a 55-year-old man as well as a 24-year-old woman.
One of these accidents took place at Okalikua mine, between Opuwo and Ohungmure road, and claimed the life of a Kaikondua Tjiurua (55).
According to the police, the accident allegedly occured after a 39-year-old unlicenced driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the vehicle overturning. The driver and the deceased were thrown out of the vehicle. The police revealed that Tjiurua died at the scene of the accident. His next of kin are informed.
Another accident took place this weekend at Onashikuvu village on B1 road between Omuthiya and Oshivelo. According to the police, a 24-year-old woman died after she was struck by a vehicle while trying to cross the road. The police identified the deceased as Ruth Ndahambelela Nghishitelwa, and confirmed that her next of kin have been informed.
