NAMWATER has announced a planned water supply interruption affecting some downstream customers supplied by the Otjihase Pump Station. The disruption is due to scheduled maintenance by NamPower on the Otjihase 11kV reticulation line on Thursday, 19 March 2026, from 07:30 to 16:30.
NamWater clarified that the City of Windhoek will not be affected, and storage reservoirs at Otjihase Mine, Finkenstein, and Hosea Kutako International Airport will maintain supply during the outage. Only certain online customers downstream of the Otjihase Mine pipeline—particularly in the Brakwater area—may experience temporary interruptions.
Affected consumers are advised to use water sparingly during this period. Normal pumping operations will resume once electricity supply is restored and the system is fully operational.
NamWater expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and thanked customers for their understanding and cooperation.
