PRESIDENT Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah held consultations with leaders of South West Africa National Union (SWANU) at State House, where a range of national issues including land, genocide negotiations, agriculture financing and water challenges were discussed.
The SWANU delegation was led by party president Evilastus Kaaronda and met with the President as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen engagement with political parties represented in the National Assembly. The consultations follow a commitment made by Nandi-Ndaitwah during last year’s State of the Nation Address to promote dialogue and cooperation with political stakeholders.

During the meeting, the delegation raised concerns relating to land matters, the ongoing genocide negotiations and the role of Agribank, particularly regarding loan defaulters and the need to reposition the institution to better support farmers.
SWANU leaders also expressed appreciation to the government for facilitating the repatriation of Namibian citizens from Botswana, commending the efforts made while calling for continued support to ensure the full reintegration of the returnees.
Other issues discussed included water challenges affecting communal farmers, including outstanding debts to NamWater, as well as the management and performance of State-owned enterprises.
The meeting, according to officials, provided a platform to exchange views on key national issues and underscored the importance of continued consultation and cooperation between the government and political parties.
