PRESIDENT Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah congratulated Namibia’s Brave Gladiators on their historic triumph over Banyana Banyana, describing the achievement as a testament to perseverance, discipline and hard work. The Brave Gladiators have been crowned the 2026 COSAFA Cup champions after defeating South Africa 2–1 in the final of the Hollywoodbets COSAFA Women’s Championship in Polokwane.
In a congratulatory message, the President praised the squad for their unwavering commitment and for representing Namibia with honour and distinction on the regional stage.
She said the victory underscores the importance of sustained investment in sport, noting that it contributes not only to youth empowerment and national pride, but also to broader socio-economic development.

“Sport remains a powerful vehicle for empowerment, unity and opportunity,” she said, adding that the team’s success should inspire continued excellence and mark the beginning of many more victories to come.
