A BRAND-NEW pink suitcase left behind in a taxi was swiftly recovered thanks to the quick action of the Windhoek City Police Service (WCPS) and their use of CCTV technology.
Ms. Tjivikua accidentally left her luggage in a taxi after travelling from China Town to Wernhil Park. Upon realising the suitcase was missing, she contacted the WCPS Command and Dispatch Centre for assistance.
The police team promptly reviewed CCTV footage, traced the taxi, and confirmed with the driver that the luggage was still on board. The driver returned the suitcase to the police office, where it was handed back to Ms. Tjivikua, who thanked the driver and commended the City Police for their service.
The Windhoek City Police Service reiterated its commitment to leveraging technology to assist residents and visitors, ensuring effective responses to such incidents.
