WIDESPREAD showers have hit several places across multiple regions – and more showers are on the horizon for the rest of the weekend.
According to Namibia Meteorological Services, more rainfall is expected in various parts of the country on Sunday, with the heaviest thundershowers expected in the south.
Namibia Meteorological Services warned that the Hardap and //Kharas regions will likely see intense thundershowers on Sunday that could result in flash floods. The public is advised to remain cautious.

Several places have already experienced notable showers this weekend. This includes Buitepos in the Omaheke Region, which recorded 20mm of rain between Friday and Saturday, as well as Poortje near Gobabis, which recorded 25mm of rain during the same period.
Windhoek, which experienced frequent showers this week, with some parts of the capital recording more than 20mm of rain between Thursday and Friday, received further rainfall on Saturday. Some areas recorded less than 5mm of rain between Friday and Saturday morning, while others recorded between 8mm and 10mm.
In the Oshikoto Region, Emilienhof near Tsumeb recorded 14mm between Friday and Saturday morning, while Leeulaagte near Oshivelo recorded 31mm of rain between Thursday and Saturday morning.
These showers are expected to persist on Sunday, particularly in the northern, central and southern areas. The public is urged to remain cautious, especially those in the south, where heavy storms are anticipated.
