THE Namibia Airports Company (NAC) recorded revenue of N$540 million during the 2024/2025 financial year, up from N$516.2 million in the previous year.
This was highlighted in NAC’s Annual Report, which attributed the increase to a number of factors, including aeronautical revenue, aircraft parking fees and percentage-of-turnover agreements.
According to the recently released annual report, aeronautical revenue contributed N$346.2 million, with key components including passenger service fees (N$254 million), landing fees (N$36.8 million), aircraft parking fees (N$3.9 million), after-hours operations (N$1.1 million) and aviation security fees (N$50.5 million).
The report further noted that non-aeronautical revenue, totalling N$112.6 million, also contributed to the overall performance. Growth in this category was driven by premises income and car rental (N$64.6 million), percentage-of-turnover agreements (N$7.3 million), as well as duty-free sales, concessions and throughput, fuel, advertising revenue, restaurants, curios, parking fees and handling fees (N$40.7 million combined).
Other operating income amounted to N$81.4 million, with key drivers including sundry income (N$1.3 million), water and electricity recoveries (N$8.8 million) and government grants amortisation (N$71.3 million). The report revealed that other gains totalled N$21.1 million, driven by a gain on the disposal of assets (N$136,900), gains on foreign exchange differences (N$1.6 million) and fair value gains on investments (N$19.3 million).
“Notably, NAC received N$21 million in capital funding during the year, earmarked for key infrastructure development projects,” NAC said.
The report also noted that NAC recorded an operating profit (EBITDA) of N$163.7 million, representing a 17% decrease compared to 2024. According to NAC, this was primarily driven by increased aeronautical revenues, partially offset by moderate increases in expenditure.
“Despite ongoing global uncertainties, NAC exceeded its budgeted EBITDA of N$31.1 million, supported by a N$87.1 million revenue over-performance and N$24.4 million in cost savings,” the annual report noted.
