A NAMIBIAN truck driver has been arrested after transporting cannabis and mandrax valued at N$2.9 million at the Trans Kalahari border.
According to Chief Inspector Fina Sakajengenga, the incident happened on Monday, 9 February 2026, at around 21:35.
“A Namibian male who was driving a Nam CDS company truck was caught after the scanner detected suspicious images underneath the truck and, upon physical inspection, prohibited illegal substances were found hidden and tied underneath the axle of the truck,” Sakajengenga said.
A total of 22.700 kilograms of skunk cannabis and 14,832 alleged mandrax tablets were recovered.
The suspect is identified as Steven Kandovazu (32).
