AN aircraft crashed at Okahao in the Omusati Region on Sunday afternoon.
The Omusati regional police commander, Commissioner Ismael Basson, said the aircraft had two occupants — the pilot, who escaped unhurt, and a passenger who sustained slight injuries and was taken to hospital for a check-up.

Basson said the aircraft was piloted by an Oshakati-based medical doctor, with his wife as the passenger. The pilot reportedly detected engine failure and executed a precautionary manoeuvre to avoid a more serious accident.
“The wife is at the hospital for a check-up. However, her injury is slight,” Basson said, adding that the identities of the couple have not been disclosed.
Details about the flight and the possible cause of the engine failure are still under investigation.
