LIGHT to moderate showers have characterised this week’s weather in various parts of the country. However, heavier and more widespread showers are expected this weekend, affecting several areas from the north to the south.
Namibia Meteorological Services has predicted that heavy rainfall will impact the Kunene, Khomas, Hardap and //Kharas regions today. The weather service warned that the anticipated downpours could result in flooding in some parts of these regions. Members of the public are therefore advised to remain cautious and take the necessary precautions during periods of heavy rainfall.
While consistent showers were recorded this week in areas including Tsumeb in the Oshikoto Region, Otjiwarongo in the Otjozondjupa Region, Windhoek in the Khomas Region, as well as Usakos and Karibib in the Erongo Region, more intense storms are expected this weekend. The public is urged to remain vigilant and prioritise safety.
