PRESIDENT Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah paid tribute to the late third President of the Republic of Namibia and SWAPO Party, Dr Hage Gottfried Geingob, describing him as a leader whose legacy continues to shape the nation and the ruling party’s values.
She added that 4 February 2026 marked exactly two years since Geingob’s passing, saying the occasion served as a moment of reflection on his contribution to Namibia’s democracy, unity and development. Nandi-Ndaitwah said Geingob’s leadership left an enduring imprint on the country and the SWAPO Party, and urged members to draw inspiration from his life of service and dedication to the people.
The President called on party members and lawmakers to honour Geingob’s memory by upholding the principles he stood for and by committing themselves to responsible leadership and service delivery. She said remembering fallen leaders was not merely ceremonial, but a reminder of the sacrifices made in building the nation and the responsibility carried by those entrusted with public office today.
