THE Namibia Agricultural Union (NAU) has announced the availability of subsidy payments for farm vaccinations against lumpy skin disease.
The NAU explained that the Livestock and Livestock Products Board of Namibia (LLPBN) approved the partial subsidisation of the lumpy skin disease vaccine at its board meeting in November 2025, with effect from 1 February 2026.
As part of this initiative, the LLPBN has introduced a nationwide 15% subsidy programme for the lumpy skin disease vaccine for cattle. The subsidy will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and funding is limited.
The subsidy will only be available to farmers who are registered livestock producers. To qualify, applicants must submit proof of the original vaccine purchase receipt, or a certified copy thereof. In addition, a bank confirmation letter not older than six months must be provided, and the claim must be submitted for verification.
The subsidy payment periods run from 1 September 2025 to 31 March 2026, and from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027.
Claims are limited to 350 doses per producer per subsidy period. All receipts, as well as national herd data, will be verified. Payment will be made within one month following successful verification.
