PIETER Albertus Dick, a 63-year-old Namibian man, died after jumping from the second floor of an apartment complex in Walvis Bay.

According to Senior Inspector Judith Shomongula, the incident occurred on Wednesday, 28 January 2026, at around 08:49 at Hagin Court in Walvis Bay.

“It is alleged that the police received a call from a resident of Hagin Court reporting a man who was lying unconscious on the ground in front of the complex. Upon arrival at the scene, the police found Saint Gabriel Paramedics on-site, with the victim lying in a supine position, with fractured ankles and blood around his head,” Shomongula said.

She added that, according to eyewitnesses, the victim was reportedly seen walking on the second floor of the complex before subsequently falling directly in front of Unit 2.

He was taken to the state hospital, where he was declared dead by medical personnel.

No suicide note was found, and the police investigation into the matter is ongoing.

The police extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and friends.
